7 classrooms of Nurpur govt schools unsafe

NURPUR: A team of government officials led by SDM Surinder Thakur on Tuesday examined dilapidated school buildings of five government primary schools here and declared five classrooms unsafe for students.

A team of government officials led by SDM Surinder Thakur on Tuesday examined dilapidated school buildings of five government primary schools here and declared five classrooms unsafe for students.

According to official information, the team examined the primary school buildings at Ganhi-Lagor, Khazian and declared one classroom in each school, unsafe. It also examined government primary school buildings at Mao and Tika-Nagrota and declared two classrooms in each school unsafe. Apart from this, the team also declared the room of an anganwari centre being run at government primary school at Samma, unsafe.

The SDM said the team would continue to examine government buildings. The committee included Arun Vashisht, Assistant Engineer, Public Works Department and Yogesh Sharma, Block Education Officer (elementary), Nurpur. — OC
