MANDI: The 57th foundation day of the 6th battalion of the Home Guard was celebrated at Jasan in Mandi today.

The 57th foundation day of the 6th battalion of the Home Guard was celebrated at Jasan in Mandi today. Deputy Speaker Hans Raj was the chief guest.

Addressing the audience, he said Home Guard jawans were playing a significant role for the protection of people.

They played a key role to maintain law and order and manage traffic system along with the police. He said it was founded on December 6, 1962, during the war between China and India.

He stated that despite limited resources and several difficulties, they were doing their duty ded icatedly. He said he would take up their grievances with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. — TNS
