‘Anti-employees’ policies flayed

KANGRA: More than 1,000 Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) employees from 16 subdivisions of Kangra, Dharamsala, Shahpur and Dehra on Tuesday staged a demonstration outside the Gurkhari circle office, near here, against the Electricity Amendment Bill-2018.

More than 1,000 Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) employees from 16 subdivisions of Kangra, Dharamsala, Shahpur and Dehra on Tuesday staged a demonstration outside the Gurkhari circle office, near here, against the Electricity Amendment Bill-2018.

Earlier, the protesters gathered outside the Superintendent Engineer office at Gurkhari and raised slogans against the Central and state government for adopting anti-employee and anti-people policies. 

They also took out a march from Gurkhari Tehsil chowk here.Vice-president the HPSEB Employees' Central Body Sunita Kumari, who led the protest, said if the Bill was passed, the power departments would outsource their activities to small companies, which would deprive employees of pension and other perks. —OC
