A youth on Thursday tried to fire at a guard of a factory in Sector 25 here. After he missed, the factory guard, with the help of two others, caught him and handed him over to the police.

Shubham of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh stated that he had been working as guard in Pawan Gupta’s factory for the past three years and was on duty on Wednesday night.

He said he saw a youth roaming under suspicious circumstances near the boundary wall of the factory around 4 am on Thursday.

He reported that as he went towards him, the youth fired a shot, but missed. He added that the youth tried to flee, but he and two factory workers, Amit and Deepak, chased and caught him and informed the police.

The police reached the spot and arrested the youth. He was identified as Musarraf of Garhi Besak village in the Sanoli area of Panipat district. A .315-bore pistol and four cartridges were recovered from him, said Chandnibagh SHO Navin Sindhu.— TNS
