Yamunanagar MLA’s brother dies in mishap

YAMUNANAGAR: Shyam Sunder Arora (72), elder brother of Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle in front of Central Cooperative Bank on the Kamani Chowk road in Yamunanagar around 9.30 pm on Friday.

Shyam Sunder Arora (72), elder brother of Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a vehicle in front of Central Cooperative Bank on the Kamani Chowk road in Yamunanagar around 9.30 pm on Friday.

According to information, he was returning home in Modal Town from his friend’s house when the accident took place.

Shyam was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead. After the post-mortem examination at Mukand Lal Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar, the body was cremated on Saturday. Rajesh Sapra, a close family friend of Ghanshyam Das, said the bereaved family donated Shyam’s eyes.

He said the MLA lived in a joint family at Modal Town where all three brothers and their families lived.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattaron Saturday met Ghanshyam Das and other family members and condoled Shyam’s death.

Haryana Assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal Gurjar, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Karan Dev Kamboj, Health Minister Anil Vij, Radaur MLA Shyam Singh Rana, Sadhaura MLA Balwant Singh and BJP district president Mohinder Khadr also visited the MLA’s house.
