State Congress chief Ashok Tanwar has said the Congress will corner the BJP over issues concerning the people both in the Assembly and outside during the upcoming session.

Addressing a ‘Jan Aakrosh Rally’ organised by Youth Congress leader Jawahar Lal here today, he claimed that the government did nothing except deceiving the people in the past three years.

“CLP leader Kiran Choudhry will effectively raise the issues of unemployment, farmers’ plight and rising inflation, corruption and crime in the Vidhan Sabha. I and other senior Congress leaders will expose the double-faced BJP government outside the Vidhan Sabha after launching the cycle yatra from Kalka on March 5,” said Tanwar.

He claimed that the countdown for the BJP governments at the Centre as well as in the state had begun. He said the ‘dismal’ turnout in Amit Shah’s Jind rally was a clear indication that the people had made up their mind to oust the BJP from power in the next elections.

Claiming that the Congress would form the government at the Centre as well as in the state, he said the success of the Congress on all three seats in the recently held bypolls in Rajasthan would reflect in Haryana. People of both states were facing an Emergency-like situation under BJP rule, he claimed.

He blamed the BJP government for farmers’ plight. He stated that the government neither implemented recommendations of Swaminathan Commission nor gave them MSP for crops one and a half times their production cost.

Earlier, Kiran Choudhry attacked the BJP government for not providing jobs to the educated youth as promised. “The youth are feeling cheated as the government failed to fulfil its promise. It is snatching the bread and butter of contractual employees by terminating their services without any fault,” she said.

She called upon the people to recognise the ‘real face’ of BJP leaders. She claimed that they had been using all means to divide the society on caste and religious lines to serve their political interests. She appealed to the people to teach the BJP a lesson by voting against it in the next elections.

Former minister Capt Ajay Yadav and former Ateli MLA Naresh Yadav accused the BJP government of pushing the state on the path of devastation.
