Panchkula, December 4

In the castration case against Sirsa Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, victim Gurdas Singh recorded his statement in the Special CBI court here on Tuesday.

Prosecution counsel Rajan Malhotra said that Gurdas submitted his statement and the case would now come up for hearing on December 7. The order passed by the High Court in the case would be placed before the CBI court by the defence counsel the same day, he added.

Earlier this year, the CBI had filed a chargesheet against Gurmeet Ram Rahim and two doctors for alleged forcible castration of 400 followers.

Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year jail term in two rape cases, has been charged with castration.

It had been alleged that they castrated men at the Sirsa-based dera, telling the victims that it would lead to realisation of God through the dera head. The chargesheet had been filed in the special court in Panchkula.

The CBI had registered the case of criminal conspiracy for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons or means among other charges under the IPC against Gurmeet Ram Rahim and others in 2015.
