Sonepat, February 3

The merit-based recruitment system in government services in the state has helped eradicating the practices of regionalism, casteism, political interference and bribe.

This was stated by Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain while addressing a gathering during the Pratibha Samman Samaroh at Siva Siksha Sadan here on Sunday. The event was jointly organised by a Hindi daily and an electronic channel in association with the state government.

The minister said nearly 450 schemes and services of various departments had been made available online. “The step has helped in bringing transparency into the working of departments and eradicating corruption from public-dealing offices,” said Kavita.

Rajiv Jain, media adviser to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, said the abolition of the interview system in most government services had given a message of “Jo padhega, aage badhega” among the youth. — OC
