Three Sonepat girls part of junior hockey team

SONEPAT: Sharmila, Priti and Mahima Chaudhary from local industrial area hockey ground club have been selected in the Junior Indian Women’s Hockey team, which will be participating in the five day International Junior Women Hockey Invitation Tournament at Dublin in Ireland.

Sharmila, Priti and Mahima Chaudhary from local industrial area hockey ground club have been selected in the Junior Indian Women’s Hockey team, which will be participating in the five day International Junior Women Hockey Invitation Tournament at Dublin in Ireland.

Media coordinator of the club Arwind Kumar said teams from Ireland, Scotland, India and Canada would participate in the tournament which would be inaugurated on May 31. They would also participate in the Test Series to be held at Baranovich in Belarus from June 9 to 15.

He said Sharmila and Priti were joining the Junior Women’s Hockey team for the first time, whereas Mahima had been a member of Indian junior team for the last two years. He also mentioned that Neha Goyal and Jyoti Rumawat from the club were already members of the senior Indian women’s hockey team.

Former Captain of the Indian women’s hockey team and Arjuna awardee, Pritam Siwach and Indian hockey coach Devender Gulia congratulated them for their selection in India team.
