Three held with gangster’s body in Karnal

KARNAL: The Civil Lines police have arrested three men for allegedly carrying a body of a gangster in a car which overturned near Government College late Thursday night on national highway-44.

The Civil Lines police have arrested three men for allegedly carrying a body of a gangster in a car which overturned near Government College late Thursday night on national highway-44. 

The accused were identified as Sonu, Parmod of Sonepat, and Sumit of Gohana. They were carrying the body of gangster Rohit (27) alias Jalebi of Machri village in Sonepat.

Rohit was wanted in several cases of loot and theft, said Mohan Lal, SHO Civil Lines.

On the information of a car being overturned on a flyover near Government College, the police went to the spot and took all persons in the car to KCGMCH, where the issue came to light that a person was killed several hours back, he added.

“We have informed the Sonepat police, where a case of kidnapping of Rohit was registered,” the SHO said, adding that Rohit was kidnapped yesterday and all the accused, who are also wanted in several cases, killed Rohit and were trying to dump his body. 

The Sonepat police will investigate the case further, he added.
