Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar on Thursday kicked off the third phase of his ‘cycle yatra’ from Garhi Sampla village in Rohtak district, the home turf of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Differences between the two leaders are evident but Tanwar had recently stated that he was ready to resolve the issues with Hooda and focus on the larger objective of throwing the BJP regime out of power.

Nonetheless, in a media interaction at the launch of the cycle rally here on Thursday, Tanwar launched a veiled attack on his bete noire, maintaining that the dominance of one person, caste or region would not prevail in the Congress any more.

In response to a query, the Congress leader remarked that certain persons had been trying to get him removed from the post of state president of the party, but they had not succeeded till date.

“On the other hand, my aim is to oust the BJP government and form a Congress government in the state. Party members should also ignore petty issues and put up a united struggle for it,” he stated.

Addressing the gathering of Congress workers and supporters on the occasion, he urged them to be prepared for the upcoming elections and make the people aware of the “anti-people” approach of the BJP and INLD.

Tanwar asserted that the Congress was going to form the next government in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana. He alleged that the BJP was trying to divide the people on the basis of caste and religion and give a communal tinge to various issues and happenings to further its political interest.
