Jhajjar, September 19

MBBS students of the World College of Medical Science and Research staged a dharna outside the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday.

The students have been on a warpath for 18 days, demanding their batch be shifted to another college because they claims their college neither has adequate number of doctors to teach nor has patients in its hospital.

“Officers of the Home Ministry deputed at Shah’s residence called us to listen to our grievances. They assured us of taking up the matter with the Haryana Government. Feeling assured, we returned to Jhajjar,” said one of the protesting students.

He further said the students had sought permission from the President for mercy killing, but it was refused.

“On one hand, the college authorities claim to have adequate doctors and, on the other, it issued an advertisement in newspapers to fill vacant posts. This proves the college faces shortage of doctors,” he added.
