State signs MoU with Russian province

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday between Haryana and a Russian province for trade and investment in many areas, including timber, healthcare, real state and education, in Vladivostok.

On behalf of Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and on behalf of Russia, Aisen Nikolaev, Head of the Russian Far Eastern Province of Sakha (Yakatukia) signed the MoU in the presence of Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.

This would expand and strengthen economic cooperation between the Sakha Republic of the Russian Federation and Haryana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit the Far East Region of Russia to attend the Eastern Economic Forum to be held in September 2019. In view of this, a delegation from India under the leadership of Goyal was on a visit to Vladivostok from August 11 to 14. During the visit, business delegates from Haryana held meetings with their Russian counterparts.

Deputy Prime Minister, Russian Federation, Yuri Trutnev, was present. During the inaugural session, Khattar delivered his speech in Russian, which was well received by Russian dignitaries.
