Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala today blamed the state BJP government for famers and youth’s plight and neglecting south Haryana.

The state government has followed a negligent attitude towards the Bawal segment and has not launched any big project in south Haryana, he said while addressing the ‘Adhikaar Rally’ organised by Rao Arjun Singh in Bawal town here to mark the birth anniversary of former CM late Rao Birender Singh.

Despite being an industrial hub, Bawal neither had a polytechnic nor an Industrial Training Institute. Thus, local youths had to go to other places for training while the outsiders managed to get jobs in local industries, Surjewala said.

“The BJP had promised to give jobs to youths in the state every year. But it has snatched 42,000 jobs since forming the state government. Merely 7,000 youths have been given jobs,” he said.

The Congress leader said the farmers were neither being given minimum support price (MSP) for crops nor being awarded adequate compensation for the crop loss. “Not only farmers, all sections of society are facing hardships due to anti-people policies of the BJP government,” he added.

He called upon people to give a befitting reply to the BJP in the coming elections for misleading them by making hollow promises. He also announced to set up a women college in Bawal town, if the Congress came to power.

State women Congress chief Sumitra Chauhan attacked the BJP government for deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state. “The government is raising slogans of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, but it is making no serious effort to curb the rising crime against women,” she said.
