A man of the district’s Jatheri village was shot dead allegedly by his neighbourers on Wednesday night in his house. The deceased was identified as Neeraj (33).

On the complaint of the victim’s father Sri Om, a case was registered against Narain, his sons Devender and Dharambir, and daughter Manisha. All are absconding. 

The preliminary investigation has brought out that the murder was the fallout of an altercation between Neeraj and Manisha two months ago, said Anil Chhillar, SHO, Rai police station.

In his complaint, Sri Om said the accused armed with a pistol and weapons entered the room, where Neeraj was sleeping. On hearing some noise, Neeraj woke up and ran to the roof. Devender shot at him. Narain took the pistol from Devender and also shot at Neeraj, who died on the spot.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot and sent the body to the Civil Hospital for the postmortem examination. 

Accused at large 

The deceased was identified as Neeraj (33). On the complaint of the victim’s father Sri Om, a case was registered against Narain, his sons Devender and Dharambir, and daughter Manisha. All are absconding. The police have sent the body to the Civil Hospital for the postmortem examination.
