Yudhvir Singh of VN Senior Senior Secondary School in Rania district of Sirsa has topped the Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) class X examination by securing 499 marks out of 500. The result was announced today.

Jagbir Singh, HBSE chairman, said the technical error had led to a goof-up in the compilation of the result. He said the board calculated the results of the best five subjects. He said 1,023 students had secured 100 out of 100 marks in some subjects, but the automated system of computer did not count these marks. It led to an error in the compilation of the mark list.

They both secured 495 marks.

Monika Rani of Senior Model High School in Bhirdana village in Fatehabad, who was declared first, is ranked fifth now.
