Karnal, December 12

The Health Department has so far terminated the services of as many as 335 NHM employees and also issued them the termination orders today. Meanwhile, scores of employees continued their strike and staged a dharna in-front of the office of the civil surgeon here today. They protested by beating utensils and raised slogans against the state government.

“We have so far terminated the services of as many as 335 employees out of the total 506. The termination orders have also been issued to them,” said Yogesh Sharma, civil surgeon.

“We have also arranged drivers from other departments for the smooth operation of the referral transport services,” he added.

Gopal Sharma, a protesting employee, said it was unfortunate that instead of accepting our long pending demand of implementation of service rules and seventh pay commission, the state government had terminated the services of NHM employees. He said they would continue to protest till the fulfilment of their demands.

Workers protest

Jhajjar: Sacked National Health Mission (NHM) employees organised a protest demonstration and burnt an effigy of Health Minister Anil Vij near Shri Ram Sharma Park here today.

The protesters said they would continue with their agitation until their demands were met. Though Section 144 was in force on the Civil Hospital premises, the protesters defied the prohibitory orders to hold the demonstration.

242 sacked in Rohtak

Rohtak: The health authorities have dismissed 242 NHM employees for dereliction of duty. Civil surgeon Dr Deepa Jakhar said notices were issued to striking workers on December 8.

“However, as they did not join duty within 72 hours, the services of 242 NHM employees have been terminated,” she asserted.
