Self-help groups put up exhibition

Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kamalpreet Kaur inaugurated a two-day “Kaithal Hot” exhibition in Kaithal on Tuesday.

The exhibition, organised under the Haryana Rural Livelihood Mission, has exhibited articles prepared by women’s self-help groups (SHGs).

The SDM said the exhibition would go a long way in empowering women and provide them with an opportunity to become self-reliant.

She was happy at women’s groups coming forward to help their families financially.

“If women working with SHGs can capture the market, it will help them in improving their financial status,” the SDM said. She handed over cheques of loans granted by a private bank to two SHGs. — OC
