Rs166 crore okayed for flood control

CHANDIGARH: In all, 165 new schemes costing Rs 166 crore were approved in the 49th meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, here on Monday.

In all, 165 new schemes costing Rs 166 crore were approved in the 49th meeting of Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, here on Monday. Of these, 102 short-term schemes are targeted to be completed by June 30.

The Chief Minister directed all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent Engineers of Irrigation Department to ensure speedy implementation of these schemes with the target to complete all short-term schemes in a time bound manner. Most of the schemes pertain to river works, strengthening and remodelling of drains, replacement of bridges on drains, procurement of flood machinery and pumps etc.
