Rewari, September 25

Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh has demanded adequate compensation for farmers, who lost their crop in the recent spell of rain. He was addressing a public meeting in Palhavaas village on Tuesday.

“Girdawari should be conducted to assess crop loss so that affected farmers get compensation,” the minister said, adding rain had wreaked havoc on crops spread over a large area across the state.

Rao said he began his political career from Ahirwal in 1977 and romped home four times from the Jatusana Assembly segment. People of the region have supported him every time. Now, he was announcing that he would not contest polls after the 2019 General Election, he added. — TNS
