Hisar, October 18

The District Attorney has requested the Additional District and Sessions Court take action against those witnesses who turned hostile in the two murder cases registered against Rampal and others.

The court of Additional District Judge DR Chalia convicted the accused in the both the cases and awarded life imprisonment to all convicts on the basis of circumstantial and other evidence on October 16 and 17.

District Attorney Mahender Pal said that they had requested the court to take action against the witnesses who were complainants in the murder cases registered at the Barwala police station on November 19, 2014, after the death of six persons, including five women and a child, at Satlok Ashram in Barwala.

“We have moved an application requesting the court to summon the witnesses. There is a provision to take action against witnesses who turn hostile in a case. The court can impose fine on them”, he said.

Sources said that the ADJ court could summon such witnesses or sent the complaint to the judicial magistrate for action. Six witnesses could be summoned in the FIR number 429 and two in the FIR number 430, an official said. — TNS
