Nearly 70-80 youths today held a protest at Pehowa Chowk here against the arrest of Sandeep Bharti, a Jat youth. Bharti was arrested yesterday for vandalising the venue of a function of MP Raj Kumar Saini at Sherdha village in the district recently. The protesters demanded release of Bharti from judicial custody and registration of a case against Saini.

From the Pehowa Chowk, the protesters marched towards RKSD College and tried to close the institute, but heavy police deployment foiled attempt. Some youths entered the campus from a side gate mainly used by girl students. However, DSP Satsih Gautam and two SHOs chased them away. — OC
