Gurugram, February 14

The police have sought cancellation of a licence of a pub on the MG road here after it arrested a man and a woman for running a prostitution ring on the pub premises.

The police have booked pub owner Satya Sarthi Mohanty and its manager Neki Ram for defying the recent set of instructions issued on the High Court’s direction on alleged illegal activities in pubs on the MG road.

On Wednesday night, the Metro Police Station SHO got a tip-off about a prostitution ring being run from Queens Pub situated on the third floor of MGF Metropolitan.

The police sent a decoy customer with marked notes. On his cue, the police raided the pub and nabbed a man and a woman.

“In spite of repeated meetings with managements of bars and withdrawal of the police NOC, bar owners are still allowing harbouring illegal activities on their premises. The police will continue to tighten their noose around brothels being run in the garb of pubs or bars,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Karan Goel.
