Mahila Cong demands 50% tickets for women

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sumitra Chauhan on Wednesday demanded 50 per cent tickets from the party for women in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sumitra Chauhan on Wednesday demanded 50 per cent tickets from the party for women in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state. “Though the winnability of a candidate is more important, we will stake a claim for 50 per cent of the seats. The high command will take the final call,” said Sumitra. She was addressing mediapersons at the party office on Wednesday. The Mahila Congress is organising a two-day training programme in Panchkula from February 20. TNS
