Panipat, January 14

The police have reportedly foiled a murder and arrested two persons. They allegedly tried to loot a police vehicle to execute their plan to kill the husband of Chamrara sarpanch on Sunday night.

The police on Monday produced the accused in court, which sent them in two-day police custody. ASI Sushil Kumar said the accused were identified as Yogesh of Chamrara village and Sagar of Dehra village.

The CIA-2 team, on a tip-off, neared the Sewah village turn. As they reached the spot, one youth put a gun on the driver’s head.

The police team nabbed the duo and recovered two loaded pistols. Inspector Deepak Kumar, incharge, CIA-2, said Yogesh and Sagar disclosed during preliminary investigation that they were looting the vehicle to murder Jitender alias Kala of Chamrara village.

Yogesh disclosed that Jitender and his associates had shot dead his father Surender and uncle Bijender in fields around nine years ago, he said. — TNS
