Players off-track in Karnal facility

Karnal: The claims of the state government of providing players with world-class sports facility fall flat if one visits multi-sports Karan Stadium here. Athletes train on potholed track, while kabaddi players and wrestlers train without coaches. And the entrance from the main gate is always waterlogged. CM ML Khattar had announced an eight-lane synthetic trackin 2016, but it remains on paper. The Sports Department claims the work will start soon.        — Parveen Arora
