Sirsa, October 21

With the possibility of expulsion from his party staring at him, Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala on Sunday said that he would announce his future moves after Diwali.

Dushyant, who came to his Sirsa residence for the first time after his suspension from the party in the wake of ruckus created by his supporters during INLD’s Gohana rally on October 7, said Diwali would mark the dawn of a new era for his supporters.

“I was served a show-cause-notice and I have given my reply. From the language of the notice, I could easily make out that the draft was not of Chautala ‘saab’ (former CM Om Prakash Chautala). All allegations in the notice are baseless. However, I have clarified my position. If the party’s disciplinary committee calls me, I will go and explain my position. I will wait and watch and will announce my next move after Diwali because Chaudhary Ajay Singh Chautala (Dushyant’s father) is to come out of jail on parole and I will announce my moves only after consulting him,” Dushyant said addressing a well-attended meeting on the lawns of his residence.

However, no office-bearer of the INLD, nor any MLA and MP of the party attended Dushyant’s meeting.

In his 20-minute speech, Dushyant left no one in doubt about intentions to have control over the 22-year-old party as he said that one has to snatch one’s rights as these cannot be got by begging.

When The Tribune asked him about the contents of his reply, Dushyant clarified that he had not given any written reply to the notice as he had already demanded evidence of the charges levelled against him in the notice.

“When I met Chautala ‘saab’ in Delhi a day before he was to return to jail, I had clarified my position and told him that all allegations levelled against me in the notice were baseless. I believe that also amounts to my reply,” he said.

Asked about the move he was planning after Diwali, Dushyant said, “Wait for a few days. The entire Haryana will come to know.”

Ever since Dushyant has been served show-cause notice and suspended from the INLD by Chautala following ruckus at Gohana rally, where his supporters allegedly booed his uncle Abhay Singh Chautala during his speech and raised slogans in his favour, Dushyant has been seen adopting defiant postures.

In a meeting of the working committee of the INLD at Gurugram on October 18, Chautala had hinted that he would take a call on Dushyant’s expulsion from the party on October 25 when he is to come out of Tihar for medical check-up.
