Castigating the Congress for raising questions over abrogation of Article 370, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said it spoke the language of Pakistan and had nothing to do with national interest.

He was addressing a rally organised by BJP candidate and Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma in Satnali. He sought votes for Sharma, saying the electors should keep nation interest in mind.

“The Congress ruled for 70 years, but never made any effort to scrap Article 370. The BJP abrogated it while fulfilling its promise. The Congress is resisting this historical step without caring for national interest. Electors should endorse the decision by supporting and voting for BJP candidates,” he said.

He said Army personnel were sacrificing their lives while battling terrorists in Kashmir.
