Man held for minor’s rape

PANIPAT: The police on Tuesday arrested a man on the charge of raping a minor. The accused, identified as Nand Kishor of UP, was arrested from an area near the railway station.

The police on Tuesday arrested a man on the charge of raping a minor. The accused, identified as Nand Kishor of UP, was arrested from an area near the railway station. 

“The accused is a drug addict. He was arrested with the help of CCTV footage,” SP Sumit Kumar said. 

He further said DGP Manoj Yadava had ordered the Police Department to bear the expenses on the victim’s treatment. The DGP announced an award and a commendation certificate for Inspector Mohan Lal and his team for solving the case within 12 hours of it being registered, the SP said.  — TNS
