3-yr-old raped near Panipat station

PANIPAT: An unidentified person reportedly raped a three-year-old girl near the railway station in the wee hours today. The victim is a daughter of a specially-abled woman beggar who was sleeping on the side of the Railway Road.

An unidentified person reportedly raped a three-year-old girl near the railway station in the wee hours today. The victim is a daughter of a specially-abled woman beggar who was sleeping on the side of the Railway Road.

Satish Kumar, DSP, Headquarters, along with a team reached the spot to inquire into the matter. The police rushed the victim to the general hospital from where the doctors referred her to PGIMS, Rohtak, due to her critical condition.

According to the information available, the woman, along with her three-year-old daughter and husband, were sleeping near Wardhman Communication, a mobile shop on Railway Road.

As per the police, some unidentified person picked up the girl from there and took her to a lonely place near the railway station and raped her. Meanwhile, the woman woke up. On not finding her daughter there, she started searching for her in the direction of the railway station while her husband went in search towards the traffic light chowk on the national highway.

She heard the girl crying and a person was raping her. When she shouted, the miscreant ran away from there, leaving the girl behind. Meanwhile, people gathered there and informed the police.

According to sources, the incident took place at 5.03 am and the youth who abducted the girl was seen in the CCTV footage. Inspector Mohan Lal, SHO City, said, “We have collected the CCTV footage in which the miscreant has been captured.” DSP Vats said a case has been registered under Section 6 of the POCSO Act on the complaint of the victim’s father.

Late in the evening, the City police team arrested the accused from near the railway station. He has been identified as Nandkishor of Devaria in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh and is a habitual drug addict. Besides, a woman assistant sub-inspector is taking care of the victim at PGIMS, Rohtak, and she will stay there till she is discharged.

January 14: A 12-year-old Dalit girl gang-raped and murdered in Urlana village of Madlauda block of the district.

January 4: An eight-year-old girl allegedly raped in Bal Jatan village of Madlauda area.

October 25, 2017: A 14-year-girl committed suicide after she was raped in Dahar village 

October 9: A 60-year-old person raped an eight-year-old in Bansi Colony.

September: A four-year-old murdered after rape in Baljeet Nagar. Her body was found in an old well after eight days. The accused arrested from Koshambi in Uttar Pradesh. 

May 6: A five-year-old girl raped in Sanoli area. She was sleeping with her mother. A villager kidnapped and raped her.

December 18, 2016: A 15-year-old allegedly gang-raped by two youths near Nizampur village in the district. 

November 16: A three-year-old raped in Hali Colony in the city area.

April 2: Two youths gang-raped an eight-year-old on Ujha road.

March 19: An 11-year-old girl raped by a middleman in Badoli village.
