Youth gets life term for rape, murder of cousin

Additional District and Sessions Judge Lal Chand has sentenced a youth to life imprisonment for raping and killing a minor cousin.

In her complaint to the police, the minor’s mother had stated that on July 1, 2016, she had gone to Kaithal to attend the ‘bhog’ of a relative. When she came back, she found that the doors of her house were open and her daughter was not responding to her calls.

When she entered the house, she found her daughter lying dead in a pool of blood. After registering a case, the police arrested Sehbaz Singh, a resident to Kaithal and the victim’s cousin, who was residing in a rented accommodation in Kurukshetra. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
