Hisar, June 18

Arjuna Award recipient boxer Inspector Jai Bhagwan has been accused of misbehaving with a hotel manager in Sirsa.

In his complaint to the Sirsa police, Vijender, the manager of a hotel in Sirsa, stated that Jai Bhagwan came to his hotel on Sunday and asked for a room. He added that the cop provided his identity proof but failed to furnish an ID proof of a woman accompanying him.

On being insisted to provide her ID proof, Jai Bhagwan, who is also Kalanwali SHO, started misbehaving with him, the complainant alleged.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Aryan Chaudhary told mediapersons today that an inquiry had been started into the complaint and the Inspector was sent to the Police Lines.

The Olympian (2012) pugilist, who had won bronze in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, is not new to controversies.

In 2015, he was suspended for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs1 lakh from a businessman of Adampur Mandi in Hisar district. During his posting at Tohana in Fatehabad district last year, he was charged with assaulting a woman inspector at the office of the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner in Hisar.
