A patient has alleged been bitten by rats at the Kaithal Civil Hospital as doctors have been postponing his hip surgery. He also alleged that he did not receive any treatment after being bitten by rats.

Devi Dayal of Maandi Sadran village told mediapersons that he was admitted to the hospital on May 25 with a leg injury. He said since orthopaedic surgeons had been postponing his surgery, he remained confined to bed and rats bit his leg twice. He also alleged that the hospital staff made no effort to treat the rat wound despite his requests. Dr Surendra Nain, chief medical officer, said he would look into the matter . — OC
