Krishan Pal Gurjar, whose victory margin is the second highest in the state, is not surprised by the overwhelming support to him. He has trounced his nearest rival, Avtar Bhadana of the Congress, by 6.38 lakh votes.

Gurjar is among the top 10 BJP candidates in terms of the victory margin in the country. He has polled 9.13 lakh votes (68.8 per cent) in the Lok Sahha elections, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

The first thing on his priority list is to make Faridabad a Smart City. “I will ensure that the ongoing project of Rs 2,600 crore is not only implemented properly, but also the city and the constituency get enough funds for the all-round development,” the newly elected MP said.

“Better roads, clean drinking water, higher educational institutions and smooth connectivity with NCR towns such as Gurugram, Noida and New Delhi are also on priority list,” he said, adding he would try to live up to the expectations of people.
