INLD’s Gurgaon candidate richest

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate from Gurgaon Virendar Rana is the richest among the contestants in Haryana with assets worth Rs 102.58 crore. Congress’ Shruti Choudhry, contesting from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh and grand-daughter of the late Bansi Lal, is the second richest with assets worth Rs 101.61 crore while JJP’s Dushyant Chautala’s wealth is an estimated Rs 76.94 crore.

Virendar Rana, 46, an MBA from California State University, Hayward, doesn’t own any motor vehicle. He possesses 30 gm of gold while his wife Meena has 450 gm. The couple’s movable assets are worth Rs 80.56 crore. He has Rs 7 crore worth  agriculture land. The couple’s residential property is valued at Rs 15.53 crore. Both are into business and earn from buying and selling securities.

Shruti Choudhry, 43, owns assets worth over Rs 100 crore. In 2014, she had assets worth Rs 108.31 crore. Now, she and her husband own assets worth Rs 101.61 crore. Both are advocates. Their source of income is from rentals and law practice.  

Shruti owns a BMW X-1, Toyota Fortuner and Maruti Swift. She has 75 kg silver worth Rs 26 lakh and diamond and gold jewellery worth Rs 5.07 crore. Her husband has jewellery worth Rs 12.65 lakh. She and her husband have movable assets worth Rs 23.84 crore. She has properties worth Rs 56.79 crore in Delhi, Bhiwani and Rewari.

Sitting MP from Hisar and JJP founder Dushyant Chautala is third on the list with assets worth Rs 76.94 crore. He and his wife own movable assets worth Rs 23.66 crore.  He has a Toyota Fortuner and Tafe tractor. The family has 6,150 gm of gold jewellery worth Rs 1.9 crore and diamonds and other valuable stones worth Rs 1.44 crore.  His immovable assets are worth Rs 53.28 crore — Rs 32.02 crore in his name, Rs 18.52 lakh in his wife’s name and Rs 21.08 crore under the Hindu Undivided Family.
