19 animals killed in cattle yard blaze

YAMUNANAGAR: Nineteen animals were burnt to death when a fire broke out in the cattle yard of two persons in Chanchak village of Sadhaura block of Yamunanagar district on Saturday afternoon.

Nineteen animals were burnt to death when a fire broke out in the cattle yard of two persons in Chanchak village of Sadhaura block of Yamunanagar district on Saturday afternoon.

The reason why the fire broke out could not be identified. According to information, the fire broke out in the cattle yard of Gafurdeen and his nephew Mehandi Hasan at 3 pm on Saturday.

When the blaze was noticed, villagers informed the fire brigade authorities. However, when an engine of fire brigade reached the village, the fire was doused by villagers.

Mehandi Hasan said his three female buffalos, two calves and 12 goats were burnt to death in the fire.

He said his uncle’s calf and goat died in the incident. He said the condition of several other cattle, which received burn injuries, was critical.
