INLD banks on Jat for Karnal constituency

KARNAL: Indian National Lok Dal’s Assandh block president Dharamvir Padha has thanked party supremo OP Chautala, state president Ashok Arora and party leader Abhay Singh Chautala for fielding him from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.

Indian National Lok Dal’s Assandh block president Dharamvir Padha has thanked party supremo OP Chautala, state president Ashok Arora and party leader Abhay Singh Chautala for fielding him from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.

He is pitted against BJP’s Sanjay Bhatia, among other candidates.

Padha (56), a farmer and contractor, belongs to the Jat community, which has a sizeable number of voters in the Karnal segment. He has served the district unit of the party at several positions

“With the blessings of Karnal and Panipat residents, the INLD will win the seat,” he said.

In the last LS elections, INLD candidate Jaswinder Singh Sandhu came third, with just 1,87,902 votes. BJP candidate Ashwini Kumar Chopra had won the seat with a massive margin of 3.6 lakh votes by defeating his nearest rival Arvind Sharma.
