One arrested with 2.2-kg charas

KAITHAL: The anti-drug squad of the police arrested one Raj Kumar of Ballu village with 2.2-kg charas worth Rs 2.60 lakh in the district on Monday.

Kaithal: The anti-drug squad of the police arrested one Raj Kumar of Ballu village with 2.2-kg charas worth Rs 2.60 lakh in the district on Monday. The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act. He was produced in a local court which remanded him in judicial custody till March 30. Superintendent of Police Waseem Akram said a police party received a tip-off that Raj Kumar, a resident of Rapria Patti of Balu village, was trading in charas. So, his house was raided by the police and the contraband seized. The police said other villagers were asked to assist the police, but they did not cooperate. Vinod Kumar, DSP, also reached the spot and 2.2-kg charas, which was wrapped in polythene and kept in a wooden box, seized. OC
