A 27-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home late on Friday. The body was handed over to her relatives after the post-mortem examination on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rita, wife of Sandeep. He works in a private factory in the city.
According to the police, Sandeep, his wife Rita and their two children were staying at a rented accommodation. Rita reportedly ended her life while she was alone at home. Family members saw the body hanging and informed the police.
Some domestic reasons seem to be behind the woman’s suicide, said Inspector Ashish Kumar, SHO, Chandnibagh. A family member has told the police that Rita was upset over some ailment too, he added.
