‘Punjabi CM’ ad: EC seeks report

KARNAL: The state Election Commission (EC) has sought a report from the district authorities regarding an advertisement published in vernacular dailies on Sunday.

The state Election Commission (EC) has sought a report from the district authorities regarding an advertisement published in vernacular dailies on Sunday.

The advertisement reads, “It is for the first time that Haryana has got a Punjabi CM in 52 years and if mistake is committed today then the next opportunity would not come in next 60 years.”

“I have sought a report from Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Aditya Dahiya on this issue,” said Dr Dalip Singh, State Election Commissioner.

“The advertisement appeared in three Hindi newspapers and I will submit my report to the Election Commission within three days,” said Dahiya. — TNS
