Drugs control officer dies in mishap

FATEHABAD: District drugs control officer for Sirsa and Fatehabad districts Rakesh Chhokar was killed when his car collided with a truck near Dhangar village here on Tuesday morning.

Fatehabad: Drugs control officer for Sirsa and Fatehabad districts Rakesh Chhokar was killed when his car collided with a truck near Dhangar village on Tuesday morning.  Chhokar was coming to Fatehabad from Panipat’s Narayana village. The police said the truck driver, who fled the spot, had been booked. Chhokar’s body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem. TNS

Newly-wed alleges rape by neighbour

Hisar: A newly married woman was reportedly raped by a neighbourer in a village of the district. The police have registered a case of rape against the accused. The police spokesperson said the woman, 19, got married in July this year. She alleged that she was lured by a woman to the house of the youth. She alleged that the youth made physical relations with her on the pretext of marriage but refused later. TNS

Man gets jail for dacoity 

Kurukshetra: A local court has sentenced Zahur of Muzaffarnagar to six years in jail for dacoity at a petrol station.The judge also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on him. — TNS
