Students showcase creativity at Tribune painting contest

With a view to sensitising the children towards cleanliness and tree plantation, The Tribune group organised a painting competition based on the theme “Clean India – Green India” for students in the age-group of 10-13 years.

As many as 278 students from 25 schools showcased their creativity at the event organised on the premises of BP Jain Skill Development Centre located on the Delhi Road here on Friday.

Noted industrialist-cum-social activist Rajesh Jain was the chief guest, while BP Jain Skill Development Centre Director Sandhya Jain, miniature artist and Limca Book record-holder Jatinder Pal Singh and Manjet Bawa, award-winner artist Mahesh Dalal were the judges.

In his address, Jain exhorted the participants to become real partners in the campaign for cleanliness and start the drive from our own home and surroundings.

Kinjal of IB School, Rohtak, won the first prize — a sports bicycle, while Jeetika of DAV School, Rohtak, won a Tab as the second prize. The third prize — a digital camera — was won by Vinita of Shiksha Bharti Senior Secondary School, Rohtak. Anjana of DAV School, Rohtak, won the fourth prize – a mobile phone, while Ridhi of RPS School, Garhi, stood fifth and won a sporty wristwatch.

The winners of the consolation prize (colour-kit) included Ankur (RPS School, Garhi), Rimpi (DAV School, Rohtak), Yaman (MDN School, Rohtak), Kirti (Model School, Rohtak), Ilakshi (RPS School, Garhi), Pragati (Model School, Rohtak), Ojaswini (John Wesley Convent, Rohtak), Yashu (Shiksha Bharti Senior Secondary School, Rohtak), Bhawna (MM International School, Hansi), Sidharth (Pathaniya Public School, Rohtak), Vanshika (Vidya Sree International School, Rohtak), Dhruv (DAV School, Rohtak), Arzoo (MM International School, Hansi), Rajni (Sidharth International School, Kalanaur) and Vivek (Model School, Rohtak).

All participants were given writing kits and certificates of participation.
