Sonepat, January 15

Jai Tirath Dahiya, Congress MLA from Rai Assembly constituency, has demanded a CBI probe into the alleged murder of Rakesh, Village Livestock Development Assistant (VLDA) of Badauli village in his constituency. The MLA has also sought an investigation into the alleged involvement of an influential BJP minister, whose name has come forward in the case.

In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, Dahiya said Kavita Jain, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister, and her husband Rajiv Jain, media advisor to the Haryana CM, must step down from their posts until completion of the inquiry.

Dahiya said being the representative of the people of his constituency, he was duty bound to raise the matter as the family of the deceased was not satisfied by the police investigation and was alleging foul play. “The family has alleged that the police, under the influence of the local BJP leader, are not investigating the case properly,” he stated.

During police interrogation after his arrest last Friday, Ravinder Antil of the same village had confessed to murdering VLDA Dr  Rakesh by throwing him in the Ganga in Haridwar. Ravinder, claiming to be a BJP activist, had also confessed to have allegedly taken money through Dr Rakesh for arranging appointments of 35 youths of the area in government service. — OC
