Slamming the state government over alleged corruption in mining operations, Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda has claimed a scam due to unauthorised mining and overloading of trucks in the Dadri and Bhiwani mining zones. He alleged that corruption had reached new heights during the BJP regime.

“Mining zones are evidence of corruption in the state government. I have been told that mining has been going on in the region in violation of norms. Over-exploitation of mining zones has been affecting the exchequer. Truckers are being made to pay illegal charges,” he said while interacting with mediapersons at Dadri town in Charkhi Dadri district today.

He alleged that an influential minister was linked to the mining scam in the region. “They are keeping quiet and have no interest in getting allegations probed. There will be action at some point of time as the Supreme Court has expressed displeasure in an order regarding a mining case,” said the Congress MP.

The Supreme Court had mentioned the use of influence of persons in high places for subverting the law to grant mining lease. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed mining operations in the Dadam zone in Bhiwani last week after allegations of massive extraction of minerals.
