Medallists promised jobs too

AMBALA: Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij has congratulated Bajrang Punia, Lakshay Sheoran and Vinesh Phogat for winning medals in the Asian Games 2018.

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij has congratulated Bajrang Punia, Lakshay Sheoran and Vinesh Phogat for winning medals in the Asian Games 2018.

In a series of tweets, the minister congratulated the players and announced cash awards and jobs.

While Bajrang Punia will get Rs3 crore cash award for winning gold in wrestling and a job of his choice (HCS/HPS), Lakshay will get Rs1.5 crore and Group A job for winning silver in shooting. Vinesh Phogat will get Rs3 crore cash award and a job of HCS/HPS for winning gold in wrestling.

Speaking to mediapersons, Vij said, “Bajrang has made the country proud. He has dedicated his medal to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”
