Karnal, December 14

Acting President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory on Friday advocated Indo-Israel technique for horticulture.

During a visit to the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for Vegetables at Gharaunda in the district, he was very much impressed with the technology being used for the cultivation of vegetables. He said that this technology would help in enhancing farmers’ income and saving water.

The acting President was informed that the centre was established in 2011 and nearly 1 lakh farmers have visited this institute. The farmers are being given training in polyhouse farming and water-saving techniques. Around 10,000 polyhouses have been established so far across the state.
