Man kills neighbour after fight over waste

SONEPAT: A fight between neighbours over throwing of domestic waste turned ugly when one of them stabbed the other to death in Khanpur Kalan village on Tuesday.

A fight between neighbours over throwing of domestic waste turned ugly when one of them stabbed the other to death in Khanpur Kalan village on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kamlesh (45) of Khanpur Kalan village. Her relatives Jai Bhagwan and Shivaji were injured in the attack. The accused, Surender, is on the run.

Jai Bhagwan, in his police complaint, said Kamlesh was standing outside her house on Tuesday morning when Surender threw domestic waste outside her house. When Kamlesh objected, Surender started abusing and threatening her of dire consequences.

In the meantime, Jai Bhagwan and other members of his family came out of the house and tried to pacify Surender. But in a fit of rage, he attacked Kamlesh and others with a knife and fled, Jai Bhagwan alleged.

Kamlesh, Jai Bhagwan and Shivaji were taken to the medical college in the village, where doctors declared Kamlesh brought dead. The other two were referred to the PGIMS, Rohtak.

Investigation officer Mahavir Singh said a case of murder and attempt to murder had been registered against Surender and his wife, among others, in the Gohana police station.
