Man gets life sentence for killing stepson

District and Sessions Judge Bimlesh Tanwar on Saturday sentenced a resident of Nepal to life imprisonment for killing his five-year-old stepson.

The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on convict Vijay Kumar.

According to information, Vijay had married a woman who had a son from her first husband. They lived at a poultry farm in Aurangabad village of the district.

The accused did not like his stepson and killed him on August 18, 2017 and threw his body in a nearby sugarcane field.

On the complaint of the child’s mother, the police registered a case against under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the IPC against Vijay at the Sadar police station.
