Man gets 7-year jail for bid to rape minor

PANIPAT: The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Shashi Bala Chauhan on Friday sentenced a person to seven-year imprisonment for attempt to rape a minor girl and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Shashi Bala Chauhan on Friday sentenced a person to seven-year imprisonment for attempt to rape a minor girl and also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict.

In a complaint to the Sadar police here on April 29, 2017, the victim stated that her parents had gone to the house of her maternal and she along with her brothers and sisters was sleeping in the house.

Ramphal, a resident of the village, entered her house around midnight and tried to rape her. The police had registered a case.

In another case, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Shashi Bala Chauhan on Friday sentenced a person to seven-year imprisonment for abducting and attempting to rape a minor girl and also imposed fine of Rs 50,000 upon the convict.

In a complaint on April 27, 2017, a resident of a village said he was working in the fields and when he went back, his 16-year-old daughter was not at home. He came to know that Praveen of Pugthala village had abducted her.

On his complaint, the police had registered a case and recovered the girl from Kundli border and arrested the accused.
