Chandigarh, September 15

A lift in Honeypreet’s gym on the first floor led to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s room on the third floor of “Terawas”, the palatial residence of Dera Sacha Sauda chief in Sirsa. This was found during the search operations between September 8 and 10 carried out under the supervision of court commissioner AKS Pawar. Honeypreet was Ram Rahim’s “adopted” daughter.

“When the pink wardrobes in Honeypreet’s bedroom were opened, one of these had a door that opened into a spacious bathroom and a gym. On one side of the bathroom was a lift that opened into the dressing area attached to Ram Rahim’s room on the third floor,” said officials.

Honeypreet lived in “Terawas” while the dera chief’s family members lived in separate houses at the dera.

Honeypreet’s former husband Vishwas Gupta had once moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court, alleging that Ram Rahim was sexually exploiting his wife, but had later publicly apologised for the allegation.

Curiously, the search teams found a number of battery cells of different sizes, many of these still packed, in the dera head’s room. “Perhaps these were the love chargers that Ram Rahim referred to in his songs,” an official said.

Ram Rahim’s dresses with elaborate mirror work, a motorcycle used in his movies and some other film props too were found inside his house. “The interiors of his palatial house were loud, lacking finesse. In contrast, his son Jasmeet Singh appeared to be a home decor connoisseur. The woodwork, tapestry, curtains and wall paintings were all classy,” the sources said. The houses of Ram Rahim’s two daughters, Charanpreet Kaur and Amarpreet Kaur, were also done up tastefully.
